SHE Lanka
Sthree Lanka

The Solar Village SDG programmes on sustainable development acknowledges that by uplifting underprivileged or struggling women and girls in rural Sri Lanka, we are enhancing entire communities. A quarter of Sri Lanka's households are female led. The female gender forms over 51% of the population. Access to the labour force remains an issue for girls and women although the educational levels are on a par with the male members of Sri Lankan society.

Solar Village SDG sees providing support towards the sustainable development goal of gender parity as being an essential part of the country's economic wellbeing, as well as providing the girls and women of Sri Lanka the means to sustain themselves with dignity and free from risk of gender based harm.
